A Little Cat Shoppe History

The original Cat Shoppe opened 27 years ago in Green Hills. A little over a decade later, it moved it to it’s most recent Berry Hill location and decided to add products for our other four-legged friends and became the Cat Shoppe and Dog Store.

Having been in the business for over 27 years, the owner decided to sell the Berry Hill buildings and retire at the beginning of 2019. The Cat Shoppe’s previous owner was a tremendous resource to our family by providing ideas when our senior/mature cats were aging and dealing with illnesses. As a patron of the shop for more than 20 years, we just could not imagine Nashville without the beloved shop, so we decided to purchase it and reopen!

The previous store offered a large variety of healthy foods and many unique, interactive toys for cats as well as fun gifts for cat guardians. We will continue to do the same and even expand our gift items. We want to be your go-to resource for gift giving— especially for all of your “Cat Mom” and “Cat Dad” friends.

What about those rescue cats? Having adoptable rescue cats in the previous store for socialization and “meet and greets” gave the store a uniqueness that very few retailers offer these days. We can’t imagine the shoppe without them so be sure to check out our rescue cats while you shop for your fur baby.

Our desire is for The Cat Shoppe to continue to be an enjoyable place for both humans and their much loved kitties. We look forward to continuing The Cat Shoppe tradition and providing a community for cat-lovers for years to come.

~ Sincerely,
The new owners of The Cat Shoppe, Green Hills
